Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with the Indian diaspora in London, emphasizing the opportunities arising from the India-UK CETA effective from July 15. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in trade, investment, and innovation, benefiting both nations. Goyal highlighted the diaspora’s crucial role as a bridge between India and the UK, strengthening economic and cultural ties.
During his engagement, Goyal interacted with the ICAI UK Chapter, underlining the importance of the CA community in bolstering economic relations between the two countries. He also discussed how the India-UK CETA will open up new prospects for professionals, encouraging them to utilize their expertise for mutual growth. Additionally, Goyal explored industry-academia collaboration and research-driven innovation with Professor Siddartha Khastgir from the University of Warwick.
In a meeting with Dr. Vishwajeet Rana, Group CEO of GEDU Global Education, Goyal explored avenues to enhance India-UK cooperation in higher education, skills, and innovation. They exchanged ideas on leveraging the CETA to strengthen industry-academia partnerships for shared growth. Goyal previously urged Indian companies to deepen ties with UK counterparts to capitalize on opportunities presented by the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
