Commercial LPG prices have been increased once more, impacting restaurants, hotels, caterers, and small businesses that heavily rely on cooking gas. In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 42, reaching Rs 3,113.50 per cylinder. Similarly, in Kolkata, the price has risen by Rs 53.50 to Rs 3,255.50.
This hike comes amidst businesses already grappling with higher fuel and transportation expenses. Oil marketing companies have also raised the price of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by Rs 11. In Delhi, a 5-kg FTL cylinder now costs Rs 821.50. However, there has been no adjustment in domestic LPG cylinder prices, offering some respite to household consumers.
The latest increase continues the sharp upward trend in commercial LPG prices seen since the start of the year. In January, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi was priced at Rs 1,691.50. With monthly revisions, the price has now surged to Rs 3,113.50, marking a significant increase of over Rs 1,400 within five months.
