Confident Group Managing Director T.A. Joseph reassured the public about the company’s stability after the passing of founder and chairman C.J. Roy. Joseph emphasized that the real estate firm remains financially strong, actively operational, and unaffected by the tragic event. He stated that the company, known for its transparent dealings, is debt-free and continues its projects without disruption.
Joseph confirmed that work has resumed at all project sites, with only some painting work remaining in two towers in Bengaluru. The company is currently working on 26 projects and has launched eight out of 12 announced projects in Kerala. Two more projects are set for launch in the state soon.
Addressing concerns of financial strain, Joseph highlighted the company’s resilience during past economic challenges like demonetization and the Covid-19 pandemic. He mentioned that Confident Group had managed business worth Rs 18 crore during the Covid lockdown and had received Rs 25 crore in collections recently with no pending payments.
Refuting allegations of Income Tax harassment, Joseph clarified that the company was cooperating with the ongoing probe into Roy’s death. He dismissed rumors of business ties between Roy and film personalities, stating that any connections with actors were personal and not commercial. Joseph also denied reports of suicide notes, mentioning that only personal directives were found and handed over to the family and authorities.
Joseph expressed gratitude for the media and public support during this challenging period. He acknowledged the backing received from most media outlets and the Kerala Chief Minister, which has boosted confidence in the company’s future.
