A confrontation arose at an NEET re-examination center in Ahmedabad over the enforcement of exam security and dress code rules. The incident occurred at R.J. Tibrewal Commerce College in the Vastrapur area during the NEET re-examination conducted due to a paper leak controversy. Tight security measures were implemented at 211 exam centers in Gujarat, with strict adherence to guidelines set by the National Testing Agency.
The situation escalated when a female candidate wearing a hijab faced initial security screening issues. After objections were raised, she was eventually allowed to enter wearing the religious attire. This decision sparked protests from some parents present, who questioned the consistency in applying exam rules, citing instances where Hindu religious symbols were required to be removed during frisking.
Outside the center, tensions rose as parents protested for uniform enforcement of rules, leading to a brief clash involving members of Bajrang Dal and AIMIM. Police intervened to restore order, removing individuals disrupting public order. Despite the commotion outside, the NEET examination inside the center proceeded smoothly without any disruptions.
Authorities confirmed that the examination continued without incident, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm and avoiding spreading unverified information on social media.
