The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has named new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents in Rajasthan and Punjab. This decision, made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, is part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan initiative to strengthen the party organization. In Rajasthan, Digvijay Singh Purawat, Sunil Sharma, Virender Singh Gurjar, and Hansraj Meena have been appointed as DCC Presidents for different districts.
The appointments in Punjab include Kulwant Rai Singla as DCC President of Mansa and Nishat Akhtar as DCC President of Malerkotla. These changes aim to enhance the grassroots structure and prepare district units for future political tasks. The appointments are effective immediately and are crucial for bolstering the Congress party’s presence and coordination at the district level in both states.
The orders for these appointments were issued from the AICC headquarters in New Delhi and were signed by KC Venugopal, MP and General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee. In Rajasthan, the appointments for these four DCC President positions had been pending for a considerable time, with names for 45 districts announced last year in November. This move follows a recent meeting between Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and senior leaders from the Uttarakhand unit to review organizational strength and strategize for upcoming electoral challenges.
