The Congress party has urged for a Supreme Court-monitored independent judicial inquiry into alleged irregularities linked to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Party spokesperson Surendra Rajput highlighted concerns over the misuse of donations and offerings meant for the construction of the Ram Temple, emphasizing the importance of transparency and governance within the Trust. Rajput criticized the alleged politicization and mismanagement of funds collected in the name of Lord Shri Ram, stressing the need for accountability and answers to the devotees.
Amidst resignations within the Trust, including former General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, Rajput pointed to recent developments and appointments that have raised questions. He mentioned the acceptance of resignations, statements by Trust officials, and media reports regarding specific members. Rajput alleged that efforts were made to suppress the issue and called for a thorough investigation under the Supreme Court’s supervision to address the concerns raised.
The Congress party demanded transparency from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the Trust’s formation and administrative decisions. They called for immediate FIRs and arrests of individuals allegedly involved in the irregularities. Additionally, the party sought an independent judicial inquiry monitored by the Supreme Court, the reconstitution of the Trust with diverse members, and a forensic audit of all donations and expenditures related to the Ram Temple project. Rajput emphasized the significance of upholding the faith associated with Lord Shri Ram and taking legal action against those found responsible for any wrongdoing.
