Hyderabad police have announced the arrest of Congress leader Mujahid Alam Khan, his father Nawab Mahbub Alam Khan, and five associates in relation to the recent murder of Telangana High Court advocate Khaja Moizuddin. The breakthrough in the case was revealed by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar during a press conference.
The State Congress unit Vice President Mujahid Alam Khan and his father, Mahbub Alam Khan, allegedly conspired with their associates to hire killers for the contract killing of Moizuddin for Rs 15 lakh. The motive behind the murder stemmed from a long-standing dispute over Waqf properties and management issues between the families of Mujahid Alam Khan and the deceased advocate.
According to the police, the accused believed that the deceased advocate’s active involvement in legal proceedings against them was causing them continuous legal setbacks and humiliation. Due to this, accused Mujahid Alam Khan and his father plotted to eliminate him.
The murder of Advocate Moizuddin occurred on May 23 near his residence in Masab Tank as he was entering his car. A green-colored SUV without number plates intentionally hit him, leading to severe injuries and his subsequent death. Following a complaint by the deceased advocate’s son, a case was registered at Nampally Police Station, and the investigation commenced.
CCTV footage clearly showed a green SUV waiting near Moizuddin’s residence and deliberately hitting him before fleeing the scene. The accused persons were identified through the investigation and CCTV verification.
Investigations revealed that Mujahid Alam Khan and Mahbub Alam Khan, along with their associates, conspired to execute the murder plan through hired individuals. The accused arranged funds and logistics for the crime, leading to the intentional hit on Moizuddin. The accused fled the scene after the murder, attempting to destroy evidence and evade capture.
Based on technical evidence and confessions, the police arrested the accused individuals involved in the murder, including the main conspirators and those directly responsible for executing the crime.
