The Congress Legislative Party Leader, Vijay Wadettiwar, criticized the Maharashtra government for alleged malpractices and administrative chaos in various departments. During budget discussions, he accused the administration of neglecting public interest and protecting corrupt officials. Wadettiwar highlighted issues like land scams and safety concerns in forest areas.
He pointed out irregularities in land transactions, including the alleged transfer of fertile land to a shell company and illegal transactions affecting tribal communities. Wadettiwar also demanded an inquiry into the “MHADA scam” and highlighted a family’s 20-year struggle for land promised during the Bhudan movement.
Wadettiwar raised concerns about corruption in school procurement processes and the poor state of rural schools. He criticized the lack of basic facilities like functional toilets and highlighted issues such as paper leaks and inappropriate exam questions. Additionally, he addressed the man-animal conflict in the Vidarbha region and called for protective measures for forest-fringe villages.
The Congress leader questioned the government’s support for officials under investigation for corruption and demanded action against illegal mining activities. He also raised concerns about the Haffkine Institute corruption case and the reinstatement of officials facing ACB investigations.
