A day prior to his inauguration as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala, Congress leader V.D. Satheesan visited Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, also known as Cleemis Bava. Cleemis Bava holds the positions of Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church and Major Archbishop of Trivandrum.
Expressing gratitude on social media, Satheesan mentioned receiving blessings and well wishes from #MarClimisBava before assuming office as the Chief Minister of Kerala. He emphasized the significance of Cardinal Cleemis Bava’s words of faith and goodwill, considering them a source of strength and motivation.
As preparations for the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government’s oath-taking ceremony on Monday progress, discussions on cabinet formation are reaching their final stages. The new administration is expected to have a 21-member cabinet, the maximum allowed in Kerala, with the Congress likely to secure 11 ministerial positions, including the Chief Minister’s role.
Intensive consultations among alliance partners and leadership are ongoing to finalize the list of ministers, which is anticipated to be submitted to the Governor by 2 p.m. today. Notable Congress figures like Ramesh Chennithala, Sunny Joseph, K. Muraleedharan, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, A.P. Anil Kumar, P.C. Vishnunath, M. Liju, Chandy Oommen, and Bindu Krishna are expected to assume key ministerial responsibilities.
