Congress leaders have strongly criticized the Central government following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination due to allegations of a paper leak. They have called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to take accountability and resign, labeling the incident as a manifestation of a “corrupt system.”
According to Congress MP Manickam Tagore, the prevalence of paper leaks has become a regular issue under the NDA government, jeopardizing the future of students. He highlighted the distress faced by students and their families who invest significant time and resources in exam preparation only to encounter leaked papers.
Tagore accused the government of undermining the examination system over the past 12 years, creating a compromised education environment. He criticized the formation of inquiry committees after each paper leak, emphasizing the lack of sustainable solutions and the need for responsible officials to step down.
The demand for Minister Pradhan’s resignation was reiterated by Tagore, emphasizing the government’s obligation to uphold accountability. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari echoed concerns about the impact on students and families, questioning the ethical responsibility of leaders in such situations.
