Buoyed by recent successes in civic polls, Congress leaders in Kerala gathered for a summit in Wayanad. Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor emphasized party unity, dismissing rumors of discord. Tharoor clarified his alignment with the party on key issues, countering claims of deviation.
The two-day Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) ‘Lakshya Leader Summit’ concluded at the Saptha Convention Centre. Tharoor, addressing the inaugural session, highlighted the importance of preparation for the 2026 Assembly election. The summit aimed to strategize against the Left government’s policies and the BJP-led Central government’s failures.
As Kerala gears up for the Assembly elections in April-May, the summit focused on the Congress’s campaign strategies. Discussions included alliances, seat-sharing talks, and countering the ruling government’s policies. Key leaders, including KPCC President Sunny Joseph and AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, attended the summit to chart the party’s course.
