Congress leaders gathered at Veer Bhumi in New Delhi to honor former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary. The leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, laid floral tributes at the memorial. They were joined by senior Congress members like Ashok Gehlot, P. Chidambaram, and Mukul Wasnik, along with party workers and supporters.

Jagdish Tytler, a Congress leader, praised Rajiv Gandhi as an exceptional and compassionate leader, emphasizing his scientific thinking and dedication to youth and children. Mani Shankar Aiyar also highlighted Rajiv Gandhi’s visionary outlook for the nation, expressing concern over the current challenges to his dream.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Assembly, lauded Rajiv Gandhi’s strong vision for India, particularly focusing on the aspirations of the younger generation. Srinivas B.V., another Congress leader, commemorated Rajiv Gandhi’s Sadbhavana Diwas, emphasizing the enduring impact of his contributions on the country.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav acknowledged Rajiv Gandhi’s transformative initiatives during his tenure as Prime Minister, crediting him with ushering in the computer and digital revolutions. Yadav emphasized the need to draw inspiration from Rajiv Gandhi’s leadership and achievements for the nation’s progress.

Rajiv Gandhi, who became Prime Minister in 1984 after his mother Indira Gandhi’s assassination, was known for his youth-centric policies and forward-looking approach. His life was tragically cut short when he was assassinated by an LTTE suicide bomber during an election rally in 1991.
