The Congress Legislature Party in Karnataka has scheduled a meeting to choose a new leader following Siddaramaiah’s resignation as Chief Minister. This new leader is anticipated to be the party’s nominee for the Chief Minister’s position. The meeting is set to commence at 4 P.M. at the Conference Hall of Vidhana Soudha, with Siddaramaiah presiding over it.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, D.K. Shivakumar, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, Legislative Council floor leader N.S. Bose Raju, and all executive presidents of the party will attend the CLP meeting. The announcement regarding the meeting was made by Allamaprabhu Patil, MLA and Secretary of the Congress Legislature Party.
All Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), Lok Sabha members, and Rajya Sabha members have been requested to participate in the meeting. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah concluded his meetings in Delhi with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and is expected to return to Bengaluru at 5.30 P.M.
Before leaving Delhi, Siddaramaiah, D.K. Shivakumar, Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, and former minister K.H. Muniyappa shared a meal together. Siddaramaiah also had discussions with AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal and met with D.K. Shivakumar and former minister K.J. George. Karnataka Minister H.K. Patil hinted that D.K. Shivakumar is likely to be the next Chief Minister and could take the oath in the next two days.
