Reacting to the Bangladesh parliamentary election results, Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat expressed his wish for the effective handling of minorities’ security. Bhagat extended his best wishes to the country and emphasized the importance of the government being sensitive to the people’s expectations. He stated, “Most importantly, we hope that the security of minorities and all related matters are handled effectively — that is our sincere wish.”

In contrast, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh shared optimism about Bangladesh’s future, foreseeing a return to peace and progress in the country. Ghosh expressed confidence that Bangladesh would soon resume its developmental journey.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its alliance emerged victorious in the 13th parliamentary elections, securing 210 seats, as per unofficial results reported by local media. The victory sets the stage for the formation of a new government under the leadership of the BNP.

According to reports from Bangladeshi daily Jugantor, BNP chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to become the Prime Minister, marking the return of a male Prime Minister to Bangladesh after nearly 35 years. Unofficial results from various constituencies showed Tarique’s strong electoral performance, positioning him for a significant leadership role in the country.

Tarique Rahman, who took over the BNP leadership after his mother’s passing, expressed confidence in his victory following the elections. He garnered substantial support in the polls, securing a path towards leading Bangladesh as Prime Minister, as the BNP gears up to establish its new government.
