Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge conveyed his well-wishes to party members and citizens on the Indian National Congress Foundation Day. He emphasized the party’s commitment to the welfare, empowerment, and inclusive development of the Indian populace. Kharge highlighted the Congress’s enduring legacy, spanning 140 years, characterized by principles of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, struggle, and patriotism.
The Congress party, through its official handle, also celebrated the Foundation Day by acknowledging its historical contributions to India’s freedom struggle. In contrast to the current ruling administration, the party criticized the promotion of “hatred, injustice, and oppression,” reaffirming its dedication to combating such ideologies. Various state units of the party are organizing programs to commemorate the Foundation Day, with the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee planning a series of events, including a flag-hoisting ceremony and a specially curated exhibition in honor of the party’s journey.
In Himachal Pradesh, the state-level Foundation Day program will be overseen by State Congress President Vinay Kumar, featuring a seminar focusing on the party’s enduring struggle, service, and dedication. The Indian National Congress, established on December 28, 1885, continues to hold significance as one of the oldest political parties in India.
