Patna, Aug 8 (IANS) The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee has intensified its organisational preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections, with senior party leaders visiting Bhagalpur to chalk out the party’s strategy and strengthen its grassroots network.

Bihar Congress In-Charge Krishna Allavaru and State Congress President Rajesh Ram arrived in Bhagalpur and addressed a press conference at the Circuit House on Saturday.

Congress workers welcomed the two leaders by garlanding them, reflecting enthusiasm among the party cadre.

During the press conference, the Congress leadership said that strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level would be the party’s primary focus ahead of the Panchayat elections.

Leaders emphasised increasing the participation of workers at the Panchayat level, enrolling new members and taking the party’s policies and programmes to villages across the state.

The leaders also called upon party workers to work in coordination and strengthen the Congress organisation at the local level.

They responded to questions from journalists on contemporary political issues and outlined the party’s broader organisational strategy.

Krishna Allavaru and Rajesh Ram reached Bhagalpur on Friday for a two-day training camp for newly elected Block Congress Presidents, which began near Kotwali Chowk.

The programme was organised under the aegis of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee.

Block Presidents from Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Katihar, Purnea and Kishanganj participated in the training programme.

The camp was inaugurated in the presence of Krishna Allavaru and Rajesh Ram.

The programme began with floral tributes to the late Pravin Singh Kushwaha, former District Congress Committee president of Bhagalpur.

Party leaders and workers remembered his contribution to the organisation and his commitment to the Congress ideology.

Addressing the gathering, Krishna Allavaru said the real strength of the Congress organisation lies in its dedicated workers.

He urged Block Presidents to strengthen the party from the grassroots up to the booth level and ensure that the Congress’ ideology and public-oriented policies reach people effectively.

Rajesh Ram said the training camp was aimed at improving organisational efficiency, developing leadership skills and enabling Block Presidents to play a more effective role among the public.

He said the Congress has consistently remained committed to the Constitution, social justice and democratic values.

With the Panchayat elections approaching, the Congress’ renewed emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, worker training and organisational expansion indicates an effort to strengthen its presence at the village and booth levels across Bihar.
