The Congress in Madhya Pradesh is showing a united front ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar stated that all Congress legislators are determined to secure the victory of nominee Meenakshi Natarajan, regardless of a potential third BJP candidate. Singhar emphasized the party’s unity during a Congress Legislature Party meeting in Bhopal.
Singhar accused the BJP of trying to sow confusion by spreading rumors about cross-voting before the elections. He affirmed that such tactics would not deter the Congress’s resolve. The meeting, attended by key leaders including Jitu Patwari and former Chief Ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, focused on strategizing for the upcoming election.
The Congress leadership, after detailed discussions during the meeting, reiterated its commitment to ensuring Meenakshi Natarajan’s election to the Rajya Sabha. The party emphasized the importance of organizational unity and a cohesive strategy for the contest. The BJP, with a significant majority in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, is also gearing up for the elections with its nominees filing nomination papers in Bhopal.
