A constable in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, was killed by unidentified individuals, as per the police report on Monday. The attack took place in the Gandhi Nagar area late Sunday night. The victim, identified as Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) constable Nageswara Rao, was fatally stabbed by the assailants, leading to his demise.
Locals informed the police that a group of intoxicated youths assaulted a pedestrian on the street. Upon reaching the scene, the police confirmed the deceased’s identity as an APSP constable and transferred the body to the Government General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police team gathered evidence at the crime scene, with senior officials also inspecting the area.
An investigation has been initiated by the police, who are reviewing CCTV footage for leads. A police official mentioned that efforts are underway to apprehend the attackers based on available clues. Further details on the incident are pending.
In a separate incident, one individual drowned, and another went missing in Palnadu district after a boat capsized in Kakani village, Narsaraopet mandal. The deceased, Pitlabanda Hussain, was recovered by locals, while the search continues for Argraharam Hussain. The mishap occurred while the men were feeding fish in the tank.
Meanwhile, three individuals sustained injuries in a road collision in neighboring Telangana’s Nalgonda district. The accident, near Veliminedu in Chiryal mandal, involved a car crashing into an oil tanker. The injured parties were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, and the overturned tanker caused a disruption in traffic flow between Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
