A distressing incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, located about 50 km from Indore, where a group of individuals pretending to be Income Tax officers entered a contractor’s home and stole cash and jewelry on Friday. The perpetrators, claiming to be IT officers, arrived at Rajkumar Malvi’s residence in Dhar around 11 a.m. The impostors informed the family about a black money complaint and proceeded to search the house, eventually taking away valuables after locking the contractor and his wife in a room before fleeing.
The situation came to light when Rajkumar Malvi, confined inside, raised an alarm, prompting neighbors to alert the police. Responding to the call, local police officers reached the scene, broke the lock, and rescued the couple. Malvi reported that the thieves escaped with 50 tolas of gold jewelry, Rs 4 lakh in cash, and other items, including three mobile phones.
Following the robbery report, SDPO Sunil Gupta, accompanied by police personnel, visited the location for inspection. During the investigation, one of the stolen mobile phones was recovered by the police from a garbage heap on the bypass road. An official statement from Rajkumar Malvi led to the registration of a case, with ongoing investigations and alerts issued to all police stations in the district to track down the culprits.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi mentioned that a cyber team has been dispatched to support the inquiry, with police units from all stations in the district mobilized to locate and apprehend the suspects.
