The controversy over the altered security arrangements for RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi has intensified in Patna. Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition, criticized Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary upon arriving in Patna from Delhi, accompanied by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti. The leaders proceeded to Rabri Devi’s residence without security personnel, amidst the ongoing dispute over reduced security cover for the Yadav family.
Tejashwi accused the state government of diverting public attention from critical issues facing Bihar by raising non-essential matters. He highlighted the state treasury’s emptiness and the government’s failure in governance and development. Tejashwi criticized Samrat Chaudhary for focusing on irrelevant issues instead of addressing Bihar’s pressing concerns, claiming the government was creating controversies to distract from its failures.
The RJD leader emphasized that he and his family had voluntarily relinquished government security, relying instead on the people and party workers for support. Tejashwi alleged that the government was using politically motivated controversies to suppress discussions on rising crime, corruption, and administrative shortcomings in Bihar. He expressed concern over the deteriorating law-and-order situation, citing incidents of crime against children and women, and widespread corruption in government departments.
Tejashwi defended the allocation of official residences to himself and Rabri Devi, stating they were entitled based on their positions. He criticized the government for diverting attention from real issues by questioning security and housing allocations. Tejashwi asserted that the people of Bihar were observing the situation closely and would judge those politicizing security and official accommodation matters.
