On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi – Cooperative Week 2026’ to mark five years since the Ministry of Cooperation was established by the Indian Government. The event kicked off with the flagging off of the Cooperative Awareness Van and the release of colorful balloons at the Delhi Secretariat. The week-long public awareness campaign aims to bring the cooperative movement to every citizen in Delhi.
The program saw the presence of Delhi Government’s Cooperation Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister Ashish Sood, senior officials from the Department of Cooperation, and representatives of cooperative institutions. As part of the initiative, the Cooperative Awareness Van will travel to different parts of Delhi to promote cooperative values. Street plays and various public awareness activities were also organized at the Delhi Secretariat premises.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted that cooperation is not just an economic system but a vital tool for social participation, self-reliance, and collective development. She emphasized the Delhi government’s dedication to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” for all citizens. The Cooperative Week is expected to inspire more individuals to engage in cooperative activities and contribute actively to the economic and social progress of society.
Cooperation Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh emphasized the modernization of the cooperative sector through technology, digital services, and transparent governance. The Delhi government’s goal is to enhance the accountability, efficiency, and citizen-centric approach of cooperative institutions to provide better services and accelerate economic prosperity through the cooperative movement. The Cooperative Week will involve various public awareness campaigns, tree plantation drives, seminars, panel discussions, quiz competitions, and public participation programs across different parts of Delhi.
