A Sessions Court in Nashik, Maharashtra, declined bail for five accused involved in a case linked to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The accused, including Ashwini Chenani and Raza Menon, will remain in custody for further investigation. The court cited the seriousness of the allegations for rejecting the bail pleas.
The accused individuals had filed separate bail applications, which were turned down after arguments from both sides. The case involves allegations of atrocities, religious coercion, harassment, and hurting of religious sentiments. The police highlighted accusations of harassment of women employees, molestation, and workplace intimidation.
According to the government counsel, the arrests were made following Supreme Court directives. The counsel emphasized the necessity of keeping the accused in custody for investigation purposes. Allegations against the accused include attempted conversion, molestation, blackmail, and increasing the workload of certain employees, leading to harassment and mental torture.
Nida Khan, a key accused, is already in judicial custody, with investigators extensively questioning her during police custody. The Nashik Police are investigating the case, with a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed due to its sensitive nature.
