The Samarthanam Bengaluru team secured victory at the Karnataka Men’s Cricket Tournament for the Blind by defeating JSB Ramanagara by 35 runs in the final match. The tournament, organized by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, took place from May 12 to 15, 2026, at Ramu Sports Arena on Varthur-Sarjapur Road.
In a remarkable performance, Samarthanam Bengaluru set a challenging target of 159 runs for JSB Ramanagara, with Ravi Bandiwaddar leading the charge by scoring 118 runs off 41 balls, including 27 boundaries. Bhaskar contributed 7 runs, and Basavaraj M Hullenavar added 8 runs to the total, which also included 20 extras.
JSB Ramanagara made a valiant effort in their chase but fell short, finishing at 123/3 in 10 overs. Abhi A S B2 remained unbeaten with 61 runs, while B2 Yogeesh J scored 32 runs swiftly. Samarthanam Bengaluru’s B2 Javare Gowda B and Basavaraj M Hullenavar each took a wicket during the match.
Samarthanam Bengaluru earned their spot in the final by defeating several teams, including Kumareshwara Haveri, Vinyasa Bengaluru, and JSB Ramanagara, while JSB Ramanagara secured their place in the final by overcoming Kumareshwara Haveri, Vinyasa Bengaluru, and Deepa Academy Bengaluru.
The closing ceremony featured Asha from Shri Sharadha Devi Andhara Vikasa Kendra Shimoga and Geetha Mahantesh as the chief guest. The tournament winners received trophies, medals, and cash prizes, with the champions awarded Rs. 31,000, the runners-up Rs. 21,000, and accolades presented to the best batsman and bowler of the tournament.
