Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are set to play against 2022 winners Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 60th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. KKR had a challenging start in the IPL 2026, losing their first six matches but then bouncing back with four consecutive wins. However, their winning streak was broken by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their recent match.
Currently, KKR is positioned at the eighth spot in the points table with 9 points from 11 matches. To secure a playoff spot, Ajinkya Rahane’s team needs to win all their remaining matches to reach 15 points, with their fate dependent on net run rate and other teams’ performances. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are on a winning streak, having won five matches in a row, placing them second in the points table with 16 points from 12 matches. Led by Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans are on track to secure a playoff spot and potentially claim the top spot in the points table.
The match between KKR and GT is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, at 7:30 PM IST at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Fans can catch the action live on Star Sports channels, with JioHotstar providing live streaming of the game.
