A special court has extended the judicial custody of retired judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh, the two accused in the death case of model-actress Twisha Sharma, until July 14. Both accused appeared before the court via video conferencing from Bhopal Central Jail. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not request further custodial interrogation of the accused, continuing its investigation through various means.
Following a hearing, the court ordered both accused to remain in judicial custody until the next hearing date. The CBI is examining documentary, forensic, and electronic evidence, as well as recording statements of witnesses related to the case. Twisha Sharma was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ house in Bhopal on May 12, prompting public attention and calls for a fair investigation.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court transferred the case to the CBI after petitions for an independent probe. The agency has been investigating all angles of the case, including the events leading to Twisha’s death. Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh were arrested earlier this month and placed in judicial custody after the CBI’s interrogation. The agency has not disclosed specific evidence collected during the investigation.
Officials are analyzing forensic reports, electronic records, and witness statements to establish the sequence of events surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death. The CBI has been questioning individuals linked to the case and verifying gathered evidence. With the court extending their judicial custody until July 14, the CBI is expected to continue its investigation before proceeding further in the legal process.
