The CPI(M) is experiencing an internal uprising following its loss in the Assembly elections in Kerala. Party members from various districts are openly demanding accountability, leadership changes, and a complete overhaul within the party. Criticisms have been directed towards Pinarayi Vijayan and state secretary M.V. Govindan for what is perceived as arrogance and a leadership style that disconnected with the public and party workers.
In Alappuzha and Kannur, party meetings have transformed into platforms for severe critiques against the leadership. Members have questioned why Pinarayi Vijayan remains shielded despite the election setback and have called for his resignation as Leader of Opposition.
The discontent has escalated in Kannur, where the top leadership faced strong criticism for alienating the party from the public through rigid politics. The defeats in Taliparamba and Payyannur, traditional strongholds of the CPI(M), have deeply impacted the party.
