The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has named Ashoke Dinda and Utpal Chatterjee to lead their ‘Vision 2028’ player development initiative, set to start in July 2026. Dinda will serve as the Head of Vision 2028 and Fast Bowling Coach, while Chatterjee will be the Spin Bowling Coach for the program. This initiative aims to identify and nurture cricket talent in Bengal through a structured development pathway.
The ‘Vision 2028’ program is a strategic plan by CAB to enhance cricketing talent in Bengal by integrating the coaching core into the initiative. Utpal Chatterjee, who played three ODIs for India in 1995 and later coached Bengal, and Ashoke Dinda, who represented India in ODIs and T20Is, will play key roles in this program. Dinda also holds a government position in West Bengal.
CAB’s plan involves engaging head coaches and assistant coaches from various state representative squads, including Under-16, Under-19, Under-23, and senior men’s and women’s Bengal teams, in the Vision program. This move follows a meeting held by CAB officials to strategize for the upcoming local season after the conclusion of the Bengal T20 leagues for men and women.
