Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General, Gyanendra Pratap Singh, held separate meetings with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh to discuss the security situation in the state and the Northeastern region. During the meetings, discussions focused on strengthening security arrangements, maintaining peace, and addressing emerging security challenges. The Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the CRPF’s role in maintaining peace and law and order in Manipur.

The CRPF Director General, accompanied by senior officers, briefed Governor Bhalla on the security measures being implemented across the state. The officials emphasized the importance of safeguarding citizens’ lives and property, ensuring peace and stability, and effectively addressing security issues. Chief Minister Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing security, building public trust, and promoting harmony among all communities.

In a social media post, Chief Minister Singh acknowledged the CRPF’s contribution to maintaining peace in the state. Meanwhile, Manipur Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the law and order situation in Manipur. The meeting discussed the progress of the India-Myanmar border fencing project and emphasized the government’s priorities in strengthening border infrastructure and ensuring timely project completion.

High-level security reviews were conducted following an incident in which three individuals, including a woman, were killed by armed assailants in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. The attack resulted in the destruction of seven houses, leaving several families displaced. Various tribal organizations strongly condemned the incident, attributing it to militants from NSCN-IM and ZUF (Kamson). The killings have raised concerns over security in the region, prompting efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore normalcy and enhance law and order in Manipur.
