A grand cultural program took place at the Delhi Secretariat to commemorate Gujarat and Maharashtra Day, with Minister Kapil Mishra conveying greetings on behalf of the government. The event featured captivating performances of folk dances from Maharashtra and Gujarat, showcasing themes of beauty, love, and social issues. Around 25 artists presented devotional acts dedicated to Goddess Durga and Lord Ganesha, receiving applause from the audience.
Mishra highlighted the significant contributions of Gujarat and Maharashtra to India’s development, emphasizing Gujarat’s role in economic, industrial, agricultural, and energy sectors. He praised the “Gujarat Development Model” initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an inspiration for other states. Mishra also commended Delhi’s progress towards self-reliance and good governance under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership.
The event also celebrated Maharashtra’s contributions to India’s economy, industry, agriculture, film industry, and infrastructure. Mishra emphasized the importance of such events in promoting national unity and cultural diversity, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. Under Chief Minister Gupta’s leadership, Delhi hosts state day celebrations to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage.
The cultural program was organized by the Sahitya Kala Parishad under the Department of Art, Culture, and Languages, featuring mesmerizing performances that reflected the essence of Gujarat and Maharashtra’s cultural richness.
