Delhi Customs officials discovered 34,935 grams of suspected hydroponic marijuana from two passengers arriving from Bangkok on flight TG-323 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The contraband was found during routine profiling procedures, leading to the interception of the passengers after they passed the Green Channel.
Upon X-ray screening of the passengers’ luggage, officials noticed suspicious images, prompting a detailed examination that revealed 31 vacuum-sealed packets containing a substance believed to be hydroponic weed. The recovered substance, including packing material, weighed a total of 34,935 grams, with an estimated market value of around 34.935 crores.
The recovered narcotics, suspected to be ganja or marijuana, have led to the arrest of both passengers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. This significant drug seizure at the airport has triggered investigations to determine the source, intended recipients, and potential connections to larger drug trafficking networks.
