Cyberabad police have apprehended three individuals, including two engineering students from the University of Hyderabad, in connection with the theft of 60 laptops from the university premises. The stolen property has been successfully recovered.
The theft occurred at the CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (AIMSCS) at the University of Hyderabad in Gachibowli on February 9. The accused, who are students of B.Tech second year at the university, broke into the AIMSCS computer lab by cutting the CCTV cable and made away with all 60 laptops.
The police, acting swiftly, identified and arrested the accused shortly after the incident. The individuals involved in the theft have been named as Regula Chandra Shekar, Cherukuri Sai Charan, and Uduthalapelly Ashwin Rao, with the latter two being students of B.Tech 2nd year CSE at the University of Hyderabad. The stolen laptops, along with other items used in the crime, were recovered, and the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
