Cyberabad police have apprehended a youth and a minor boy for sexually assaulting a minor girl. Another minor boy involved in the incident is currently being sought by the authorities.
The 16-year-old girl, who went missing on February 17, was found and rescued by Narsing police the following day from Chanicherla double-bed rooms. The victim’s mother had reported her disappearance on February 17 after she failed to return home from school the previous day.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sherilingampally zone, a complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother, stating that her daughter, who was staying with her grandmother for studies, went missing after leaving for school on February 16. Despite extensive search efforts, her whereabouts remained unknown, leading to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR).
Narsingi police, during their investigation, successfully located the missing girl at the Changicherla double-bedrooms on February 18 and rescued her. The inquiry revealed that the minor girl had met a 16-year-old boy in the Charminar area on February 7, leading to the subsequent events that culminated in her assault.
The police arrested the accused and the minor boy who enticed the victim. Further investigations were carried out, evidence was gathered, and the duo was presented before the court. The third minor boy involved in the crime is currently evading authorities, with ongoing efforts to apprehend him, as confirmed by the DCP.
The accused individual had a history of involvement in various criminal cases, including robbery, theft, and bodily offenses, with a suspect sheet maintained at the Rain Bazar Police Station. Notably, both the victim and the accused individuals in this case belong to the same community.
