Cyberabad police have started questioning Bandi Bhageerath, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with a POCSO case. Bhageerath was taken into custody from Cherlapalli Prison by a police team from Pet Basheerabad Police Station, following a court order granting three days of police custody.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kukatpally, Ritiraj, is overseeing the investigation and questioning Bhageerath based on the victim’s statement and collected evidence. Bhageerath was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl, leading to his arrest on May 16 and subsequent judicial custody.

The police have recorded statements from the accused, the victim, her mother, and friends. The trial court granted three days of custody despite the police’s request for a week. The case was registered under the POCSO Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with Bhageerath admitting to the offense after his arrest.
