Comedian-actor Cyrus Broacha recently reminisced about his first film “Jalwa,” released in 1987, infusing humor into the memory. He humorously described his role as a mix of “New York Film School energy, municipal hospital execution.”
In the film directed by Pankuj Parashar, Cyrus portrayed the character Suresh, the younger brother of actress Archana Puran Singh’s character Jyothi. Sharing a scene from the movie on Instagram, Cyrus fondly recalled his Bollywood debut in “Jalwa” at the age of 15.
“Jalwa,” which also features Naseeruddin Shah, is primarily set in Goa and is an unofficial adaptation of the 1984 American film “Beverly Hills Cop.” The story revolves around Kapil, a policeman seeking justice for his friend’s death with the help of a bar dancer named Jojo, leading to a series of rule-breaking events.
Cyrus Broacha, known for hosting shows on MTV and his role in the Indian version of “Friends,” has appeared in various TV programs like “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” and “Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 3.” Additionally, he has acted in several films including “99,” “Little Zizou,” and “The Shaukeens.”
In his most recent appearance in the film “Roy,” directed by Vikramjit Singh, Cyrus played himself alongside actors like Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Ranbir Kapoor.
