Damien Wright will be rejoining Tasmania as the bowling coach for the men’s team after his current coaching role with the West Indies women’s team at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Wright, who has been assisting the West Indies women’s team with a focus on fast bowling, will bring his experience back to Tasmania where he previously played and coached.
Having been a part of Tasmania’s successful cricket history, including their Sheffield Shield victory in 2006-07, Wright expressed his personal connection to Cricket Tasmania and his eagerness to contribute to the team’s growth. His coaching background, which includes stints with the Hobart Hurricanes and Punjab Kings in the IPL, is seen as a valuable asset for Tasmania’s men’s team.
While Wright will work with Tasmania’s Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup squads under head coach Jeff Vaughan, Shawn Bradstreet has been named the new bowling coach for the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL. Bradstreet, who has experience with Sydney Thunder and New South Wales, will take over from James Hopes, who is now with the Sydney Sixers in a coaching role.
