Actor Daniel Radcliffe, known for his role as Harry Potter, expressed his reluctance for his two-year-old son to follow in his acting footsteps. Despite his own success as a former child star, Radcliffe, now 36, shared that he and his partner, Erin Darke, both actors, would rather their son choose a career where self-worth is not tied to work. Radcliffe emphasized the importance of identity and self-worth beyond acting roles during an appearance on The View.

Radcliffe, who rose to fame at the age of 11 through the Harry Potter movies, revealed his reservations about his son entering the acting industry. While promoting his show ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins’, Radcliffe was shown an early audition tape for Harry Potter on The View, leading to a moment of embarrassment for the actor. Despite feeling uncomfortable watching the clip, Radcliffe acknowledged the audience’s positive reaction with humility.

During the talk show segment, Radcliffe’s discomfort was evident as he watched his past audition, expressing his self-criticism while the audience applauded the nostalgic moment. Reflecting on his early acting days, Radcliffe, although initially critical of his performance, appreciated the audience’s support and found a sense of endearment in revisiting his past work.
