Death Toll Rises to 10 in Mathura Boat Tragedy, Rescue Operations Ongoing

The death toll from the boat capsizing incident in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, has reached 10. Rescue operations are in full swing as authorities work to find those still missing. DIG Agra Range Shailesh Kumar Pandey confirmed the toll and mentioned ongoing search efforts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, offering condolences to the affected families. He emphasized the need for a speedy recovery for the injured and assured support from the local administration. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed grief, terming the incident as extremely tragic and heart-rending.

The boat capsized in the Yamuna River near Kesi Ghat in Mathura, with nearly 30 people from Ludhiana on board. One of the boats sank after colliding with a floating pipa bridge around 2:45 p.m. Multiple teams, including police, district administration, and divers, are involved in the rescue efforts. Despite several people being rescued, many are still missing, and search operations are ongoing.

Authorities are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals, with a focus on providing relief and medical aid to survivors. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are being made to ensure the well-being of those affected. Further updates on the incident are awaited.
