Deepika Singh Emphasizes Voting Importance During Maharashtra Local Body Polls

Popular television actress Deepika Singh participated in the Maharashtra local body polls, highlighting the significance of voting for bringing about change. She shared photos and videos on Instagram, proudly displaying her inked finger after casting her vote. Stressing the value of voting, she described it as a powerful nonviolent tool in a democracy.

The ongoing elections in Maharashtra cover 29 municipal corporations, including the prominent Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Polling is taking place in various major cities like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and others. The voting process began at 7.30 a.m. and will continue until 5.30 p.m., with the vote count scheduled for January 16.

Deepika Singh, known for her role in “Diya Aur Baati Hum,” marked her television debut as IPS Sandhya Kothari Rathi. After a hiatus, she returned to television in 2019 with dual roles in “Kavach… Mahashivrati” and also appeared in the web series “Halala.” In 2022, she ventured into films with “Titu Ambani” opposite Tushar Pandey.

Recently, the actress met the blind women’s cricket team, expressing gratitude for the experience that reaffirmed her belief in human spirit and connections. Her interactions with the team left a profound impact on her, showcasing the strength of unity and resilience.
