Defence Minister Rajnath Singh pledged complete assistance from the Defence Ministry to Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh during their meeting in New Delhi. Singh, who has been in the capital since Saturday, also held discussions with BJP leaders regarding state initiatives. The Chief Minister requested support in establishing a Territorial Army battalion for Manipur.
Chief Minister Singh, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, emphasized the need for Defence Ministry aid in raising a Territorial Army battalion for the state. Singh further engaged with BJP leaders on enhancing the party’s state unit and expediting efforts for the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons affected by ethnic violence. The BJP National President assured full party support in these endeavors.
During his visit to New Delhi, Chief Minister Singh met with BJP leaders to discuss strengthening the party’s presence in Manipur and addressing the resettlement of IDPs. The Chief Minister, who assumed office on February 4, is actively engaging with central leaders to address key state issues. The Home Minister also engaged in discussions with Manipur leaders on fostering unity and peace among communities in the state.
