Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted that a nation’s greatness is not solely based on resources or technology but on the values it upholds and the figures it reveres. Speaking at the Delhi Legislative Assembly, he unveiled portraits of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, underscoring the significance of ideals as guiding forces.
Singh emphasized the role of ideals in shaping a nation’s ethos, mentioning the inclusion of figures like Mahamana Malaviya Ji and Atal Ji alongside revered historical personalities. He praised Atal Ji’s humility and dedication to serving the nation, emphasizing the importance of resolving differences in a democratic manner.
The Defence Minister commemorated the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the event, where portraits of Vajpayee and Malaviya were unveiled. The installation of these portraits in the Assembly House serves as a tribute to their monumental contributions to India’s democracy, education, and culture.
Speaker Vijender Gupta highlighted the significance of the portraits as a lasting tribute to the national icons’ impact on India’s public life. The event also featured the release of a book titled ‘Bharat Mata,’ dedicated to showcasing Indian nationalism through various art forms and commemorating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram.’
