Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the successful flight tests of the RudraM-II Air-to-Surface Missile. The tests showcased the advancement of indigenous defence technologies, a significant step towards self-reliance in advanced weapon systems.
The Ministry of Defence stated that the tests, conducted under extreme conditions, confirmed the capability of all subsystems with precise trajectory. The Rudram-II missiles, upon release, accurately hit predefined targets, meeting all test objectives as verified by flight data collected by the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur.
Developed by the Research Centre Imarat in Hyderabad, Rudram-II is a collaborative effort of various DRDO labs and partners like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended the collective effort of DRDO, IAF, DPSUs, Development cum Production Partners (DcPPs), and industry in achieving this successful milestone.
Secretary of Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO extended congratulations to all teams involved in the commendable achievement. Earlier, DRDO also completed final trials of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3 in different modes, receiving appreciation from Rajnath Singh for the successful development trials.
