Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) for research, training, and technology support in defense and internal security. The MoU aims to enhance collaboration in education, capacity-building, and technology assessment. Distinguished Scientist Chandrika Kaushik and RRU Vice Chancellor Bimal N Patel signed the MoU in the presence of the Defence Minister at South Block, New Delhi. Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat also attended the event. The agreement focuses on bolstering India’s self-reliance in defense and internal security technologies, aligning with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Amrit Kaal initiative. It emphasizes the integration of technology, knowledge, and operational insights to strengthen national security preparedness and uphold India’s strategic autonomy in internal security. Rashtriya Raksha University, a key institution under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the University Grants Commission, brings expertise in internal security studies. DRDO, the nation’s premier defense research organization, provides advanced indigenous technologies for the Armed Forces and security agencies. The collaboration will involve joint research projects, PhD and fellowship programs, and specialized training for security forces. It will also cover analysis of operational challenges, technology gaps, future requirements, and life-cycle management of DRDO-developed systems used by security agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
