Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate a North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The symposium, themed ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge’, will span three days and involve discussions between military officials and technology companies. Organized jointly by the Northern Command, Central Command of the Indian Army, and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), the event aims to showcase indigenous technologies to address operational challenges.
The symposium will provide a platform for various participants, including MSMEs, private Defence Tech firms, start-ups, and innovators in uniform from across the country. A total of 284 companies will exhibit their latest innovations and technologies at the event. The primary goal is to identify technologies suitable for field deployment, maintenance processes, and procurement streamlining to bolster a sustainable and self-reliant defence ecosystem for the Indian Army.
Highlighting the importance of cutting-edge technologies, the Indian Army emphasizes the need for continuous innovation to tackle evolving security challenges. Scheduled to conclude on May 6, 2026, the North Tech Symposium is expected to facilitate collaboration among defence forces, scientists, industry leaders, and the academic community to enhance national security and technological excellence.
