Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to reveal portraits of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Delhi Legislative Assembly this Saturday. The portraits will be placed in the Assembly House to honor the significant contributions of these national icons to India’s democracy, education, culture, and public life, as stated by Speaker Vijender Gupta.
The event will also feature the launch of a coffee table book named ‘Bharat Mata’, showcasing Indian nationalism through art, architecture, and literature. This publication celebrates India’s national consciousness and marks 150 years since the composition of the National Song Vande Mataram, according to the Speaker.
A high-level meeting was recently held by Speaker Gupta to prepare for the program, attended by senior officials from various departments, including the Delhi Police. The meeting focused on ensuring all necessary arrangements for the event, emphasizing security, crowd control, traffic management, parking, fire safety, and medical readiness.
Around 1,000 attendees are expected at the program, and all departments involved have been directed to work closely together to guarantee a secure and well-organized event. Notable figures like Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Padma Bhushan Ram Bahadur Rai, and others will also be present at the event.
