Delhi Assembly’s Privileges Committee Chief, Pradyuman Singh Rajput, stated that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders failed to provide factual evidence supporting their assertions about a ‘Faansi Ghar’ within the Legislature premises. Rajput emphasized the need for accurate information and respect for historical facts to avoid misleading the public and dishonoring martyrs.
During a significant meeting, Rajput highlighted the absence of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who did not attend despite multiple opportunities to address the issue. AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, former Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, and former Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla, presented their perspectives on the alleged ‘Faansi Ghar’ inaugurated on August 9, 2022, before the Committee of Privileges.
The Committee, consisting of various MLAs, will collectively deliberate on the next steps based on the recorded statements. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta criticized the dissemination of false information by Kejriwal and his associates, emphasizing the importance of accurate representation of facts, especially concerning governance and education. The matter has been referred to the Committee of Privileges for thorough examination.
