The Delhi Legislative Assembly faced another bomb threat via email, leading to increased security measures and immediate action by law enforcement agencies. The threatening message claimed the presence of 16 RDX-based Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) inside the Assembly premises, scheduled to detonate at 1:40 P.M. The sender, purportedly from Coimbatore, identified as a former supporter of the DMK party expressing betrayal.
The email, despite limited resources, targeted the Assembly out of desperation, warning of property damage and urging an evacuation. It contained controversial slogans, raising concerns among officials. This incident followed a similar threat the previous day, targeting the Assembly and Speaker Vijender Gupta through separate emails, including warnings of explosions at the Assembly and a nearby metro station.
Following the threats, the Delhi Police initiated a thorough investigation to trace the emails’ origin and assess their credibility. Security measures were significantly increased around the Assembly and nearby areas as a precaution. Authorities took the threats seriously, deploying bomb disposal squads and emergency services, conducting search operations to ensure safety.
