Delhi Assembly Speaker, Vijender Gupta, announced the nomination of three legislators to the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to enhance its operations and responsiveness to the public. MLA Satish Upadhyay from Malviya Nagar has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of DJB, while MLA Manoj Kumar Shokeen from Nangloi Jat and MLA Ajay Kumar Mahawar from Ghonda have been named as Board Members. The Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat issued an official order confirming these appointments.
Gupta expressed confidence in the newly appointed representatives, citing their public experience and institutional knowledge as valuable assets for strengthening DJB’s operations and addressing public concerns effectively. He emphasized the importance of sustained policy focus, coordinated governance, and active public engagement in ensuring a water-secure and environmentally resilient future for Delhi.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently reviewed the city’s water management strategy for the summer months, emphasizing the need for a consistent and equitable water supply along with long-term solutions to address shortages. During a meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister monitored the progress of key water projects and instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply and swift response to peak demand.
The Chief Minister underscored the significance of addressing every complaint promptly and warned against any negligence, stating that strict action would be taken in case of lapses. She highlighted the government’s dual focus on immediate relief measures and long-term strategies to eliminate recurring water shortages in Delhi.
