New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) On the occasion of India’s Independence Day week, a Tiranga Yatra campaign was launched in the Capital on Sunday under the leadership of Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra.

Malhotra said that Tiranga Yatras will be organised across all district areas as well as several mandals. The campaign is being coordinated by a team under the guidance of State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal.

The BJP leader added that he himself will participate in the Tiranga Yatra campaign in Chandni Chowk district on Monday.

A large number of youth workers participated in the Tiranga Yatra under the leadership of BJP Yuva Morcha president Rajat Chaudhary.

The Tiranga Yatra campaign in the New Delhi district began this morning under the leadership of MP Bansuri Swaraj and the chairmanship of district president Ravindra Chaudhary.

Bansuri Swaraj said that she was proud that the Tiranga Yatra was launched today from New Delhi. She said, “The Tricolour is not merely a piece of cloth; it is a symbol of respect for our martyrs and the unity of 1.4 billion Indians.”

“Let us hoist the Tricolour at every home until August 15 and take a pledge of patriotism,” she said.

MLAs Neeraj Basoya, Shikha Roy, Anil Sharma, District General Secretaries Anand Singh, Satyendra Tomar and Monica Juneja, Municipal Councillors Anjum Mandal, Anita Basoya, Himani Jain and Dharamveer, along with thousands of workers, participated in the Yatra. The Yatra started from Pilanji Village and concluded at Greater Kailash M Block Market.

The Tiranga Yatra of West District BJP workers began from Dholi Piau under the leadership of BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh and MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat and concluded at Tilak Nagar Police Station.

Delhi Government Ministers Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Ashish Sood, BJP’s district president Chandrapal Bakshi, MLAs Shyam Sharma and Kailash Gangwal, along with several Municipal Councillors and thousands of workers, participated in the Yatra.

The Tiranga Yatra in the North-West district began from Bhagwan Parshuram Chowk, Rohini Sector 11, under the leadership of MP Yogendra Chandolia and concluded at Jhanda Chowk, Sector 16.

Delhi Government Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh, Mayor Pravesh Wahi, MLAs Kulwant Rana, Raj Karan Khatri and Deepak Chaudhary, Leader of the House in the Municipal Corporation Jaibhagwan Yadav, district president Vinod Sehrawat, several Municipal Councillors and thousands of workers participated in the Yatra.

West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat paid her respects to the mothers, sisters and workers of West Delhi and said that the objective of the Tiranga Yatra is to take the spirit of patriotism to every household.
