Delhi BJP Media Head and Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor expressed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Communist leaders seem unsettled following Sonam Wangchuk’s transfer from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital. This move was directed by the Delhi High Court, but the AAP and Communists perceive it as a setback that hinders their ability to incite and mislead the youth. Kapoor noted the disappointment of both parties after Wangchuk’s relocation, mentioning their mobilization of approximately 1,200 to 1,500 workers in response.

Kapoor highlighted the presence of mainly middle-aged JNU hostel residents and less-educated young onlookers at Jantar Mantar, estimating their numbers to be around 500 to 700 and 250 to 300, respectively. He emphasized that these individuals are not associated with NEET or any competitive exams. Additionally, Kapoor criticized the behavior of workers at the AAP and Communist-sponsored gathering, stating that their mistreatment of mainstream media personnel reflects their frustration due to the failure of their protest.

Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra pointed out the involvement of senior lawyers like MPs Kapil Sibal and Vivek Tankha in seeking interim relief for Wangchuk, suggesting that Wangchuk is not merely an activist but a political tool of the entire Opposition. Malhotra supported the Delhi Police’s action of relocating Wangchuk in compliance with the High Court’s instructions. He also mentioned the High Court’s refusal to grant interim relief in Wangchuk’s case, emphasizing that the hunger strike, initiated by AAP, Communist parties, and Congress over an alleged NEET paper leak, aimed at disrupting the Monsoon Session rather than addressing student concerns.
