Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra expressed concern over the recent surge in fires in Delhi and urged citizens to support the city’s firefighters. He praised the Fire Brigade for rescuing a 75-year-old woman trapped in a building fire in Kalkaji amid exploding gas cylinders. Malhotra highlighted the timely response of the Fire Brigade and the coordinated relief efforts that prevented a major tragedy in the area.
Malhotra emphasized the importance of fire safety measures, especially due to increased electrical appliance usage during extreme weather conditions. He advised residents to have their electrical wiring inspected regularly, service AC units, and be cautious with electrical points. Additionally, he urged people to switch off unnecessary electrical appliances when not in use to prevent potential hazards.
The BJP President refrained from politicizing the issue but criticized Kalkaji MLA Atishi Marlena for not visiting the fire incident site promptly. He commended the firefighters for their bravery in rescuing the elderly woman during the fire. Malhotra’s acknowledgment of the firefighters coincided with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honoring individuals who lost their lives in recent tragic incidents in the city.
